Ozzy Osbourne’s Back To The Beginning final concert with Black Sabbath is to be globally livestreamed.
The heavy metal pioneers — Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward — will reunite next month for their first and last time in two decades, headlining a colossal, farewell concert on July 5 at Birmingham’s Villa Park.
The show will see 76-year-old Osbourne, who has battled various health problems in recent years, take to the stage for his final performance, playing his own short set before joining the original Sabbath line-up. There will also be various metal and rock royalty supporting the all-dayer, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice In Chains, Lamb Of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon.
The concert, which supports charities close to Ozzy’s heart, sold out in under 16 minutes, however, those who missed out on being there will be able to immerse themselves in the historic occasion though a livestream directly from Birmingham.
The show will be available to stream from 3pm BST on July 5, and will be accessible to rewatch in its entirety for another 48 hours following the event. Tickets are on sale now via www.backtothebeginning.com. Sharon Osbourne said:
"We had such an overwhelming demand from fans from around the globe, who couldn’t get tickets to the show, and they took to social media, pleading with us to broadcast a livestream of the show. Being this is such a historic event, we just couldn’t let them down."
Formed in 1968, Black Sabbath (known as Earth at the time) played their first ever show at The Crown Inn on Station Street in Birmingham, less than four miles from Villa Park. They went on to become one of the most successful heavy metal bands of all time, selling over 75 million albums worldwide. They released ’13’, their 13th and final studio album, in 2023.
