Ice Nine Kills Return With New Single The Great Unknown

Ice Nine Kills have returned with a new single, The Great Unknown.
A shift from the Boston metalcore mob's horror‑film roots, the track explores dystopian sci‑fi themes and serves up electronic elements and glitchy production with their signature hooks and a melodic chorus. Frontman Spencer Charnas said:
"The Great Unknown optimises aggression and melody in a format our core user base consistently engages with. This audio file represents a genre expansion protocol, targeting action and sci-fi verticals proven effective via cross-platform sentiment analysis. The Great Unknown is designed to seamlessly interface with current simulation conditions, as categorical boundaries between fact and fiction, organic and synthetic, continue to experience accelerated erosion."

Next month, Ice Nine Kills will embark on their Hell of A Summer Tour across the US, joined by Dayseeker, Kim Dracula, The Funeral Portrait, and Mest on select dates. They'll also play When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas in October.
In the winter, they'll return to the UK as part of the European leg of their A Work Of Art Tour, featuring support from Creeper and The Devil Wears Prada. The trek takes its name from the band's October 2024 single, A Work Of Art, a collaboration with System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian. Tickets are on sale now.
Their most recent studio album is 2021's 'Welcome To Horrorwood: The Silver Scream 2', though since then they've put out alternative versions of previous records, and a live record titled 'I Heard They KILL Live 2', which captures their show in Lowell, Massachusetts on the 2022 Trinity Of Terror Tour.
