Billy Nomates, the musical project of Bristol artist Tor Maries, has shared a video for Nothin Worth Winnin.
A reflection on the challenges of navigating the music industry, the synthy, stripped back track features on her third album, 'Metalhorse', which arrived back in May. Contemplating the motivation behind the song, she said:
"You get on these rides and you're like… this ain't fucking built right. Like, should I put my nephew on this?. You arrive into this brilliant place, but if you look too closely you can see the bolts coming off."
The Tia Perkins-directed clip, meanwhile, follows Maries and comedian Paul Foot on a seaside funfair adventure.
Previously, Maries shared the singles Override, Plans and The Test from the record. She'll support it with a previously scheduled UK and European tour in the autumn, following a slot at Edinburgh's Fringe By The Sea Festival next week. Tickets are on sale now.
She'll also play an intimate show at The Bullingdon in Oxford on September 23, with all profits and donations going to The MS Society.
