Arctic Monkeys hit single 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor' is reported to be the inspiration for the now infamous Peter Crouch robo dance.

The craze is now sweeping the nation after Liverpool and England forward Peter Crouch, nicknamed Crouchinho by Liverpool fans, was caught on camera robodancing to the 'Monkeys hit single at the Beckhams Pre-World Cup party.

Crouch was apparently dancing to the tune when the line 'Dancing to electro-pop like a robot, from 1984' came up, which inspired the striker to do his robot jig on the dance floor, which has since gone on to make the footballer a cult icon in England.

Last week the 6ft 7 England striker famously showed off the dance to none other than the future King of England, Prince William, at a training session in Manchester.

Crouch scored a hat-trick for England in the 6-0 friendly win over Jamaica yesterday, which setup the crazy dance on two occasions.

Here are some clips of Crouchy doing his thing on the dancefloor, and on the footy pitch.

Peter Crouch is 50-1 to be the top scorer at the World Cup Finals, while England are 5-1 to win the World Cup. Fancy a flutter? Get your free £25 world cup bet through Stereoboard.com. The free £25 bet could net you £1250 if he can do his thing on the pitch at the finals which kick off in Germany this Friday.
