From Birmingham with love; hailing from that most romantic of British cities, the Moody Blues have forged for themselves a music career that has spanned five decades, pushed the boundaries of pop music and given the world arguably one of it’s greatest love songs in ‘Nights in White Satin’. Called the Moody Blues due to Justin Hayward’s tendency to occasionally assault fans he thought were ‘funny-looking’ with the mike-stand (this is lie), the band started with an initially Rhythm and Blues-based sound but with the creative input of Graeme Edge and Justin Haywood amongst others, they helped create a new sound which came to be known as Progressive Rock.
The Blues have broken up and reformed over the years and had a few variations in line up, but it’s a Moody Blues still boasting the talents of Graeme Edge, Justin Hayward and John Lodge that will be touring the UK in 2010.
