Charley Crockett To Conclude Sagebrush Trilogy With New Album 'Age Of The Ram'

Charley Crockett has announced a new album.
'Age Of The Ram' will arrive through Island Records on April 3, marking the Texas alt-country singer's final instalment in his Sagebrush Trilogy, which began with last March's 'Lonesome Drifter' and continued with August's Grammy-nominated 'Dollar A Day'.
The prolific songwriter structured the trilogy's concept in three acts, with the first two introducing The Drifter and The Rustler, respectivley, and Act III focusing on a figure called The Outlaw. He explained:
"Age Of The Ram is the story of Billy McLane, a small-time cattle rustler who finds himself in the crosshairs of the Santa Fe ring. Pursued by bounty killers working for the shadow syndicate, Billy Mclane escapes into the crazy mountains where the outlaw will become a legend."
Reuniting with co-producer Shooter Jennings, Crockett teased 'Age Of The Ram' earlier this month with the release of the acoustic-guitar driven lead single, Kentucky Too Long, which blends his signature country, blues and Americana with heartfelt storytelling lyrics.
Crockett recently kicked off a North American tour, with dates scheduled through to late July, but he revealed on social media this week that he's had to cancel his upcoming Canadian shows after being denied entry at the border twice within 24 hours due to an old felony charge. He'll also play Bourbon and Beyond festival in Kentucky in September. Head here for his dates.
