Slayer would rather not, but they’ve had to announce that they’ve put their forthcoming UK tour on hold. The show that was due to start in November, will now be happening in March 2010. Previous tickets are still valid.
Due to a back injury thought to be related to berserk onstage activity, singer and bassist Tom Araya has been under the care of a specialist. Whilst he has made significant improvement, it is not yet enough to allow him to be throwing himself around stage. So the band are taking some time for him to fully recover.
"Right now," said Slayer's manager, Rick Sales, "our main concern must be the full and permanent recovery of Tom, so we have decided to clear the calendar and give him the extra time he needs to concentrate solely on good health."
