Franz Ferdinand Begin Work On Fourth Album

Scottish indie group Franz Ferdinand are about to enter the studio once again to begin work on what will be their fourth studio album.

Bursting out of Glasgow with some exceptional stomping indie pop songs. Singles such as ‘Take Me Out’ became dancefloor favourites and turned the band into an overnight success.

Making fans wait a little longer for last year’s release of their first offering of new material in four years, ‘Tonight: Franz Ferdinand’ saw the band experiment with analogue synths and Afrobeat rhythms spawning their hit single ‘Ulysses’.

Touring heavily over the last year, Franz Ferdinand have now slowed down to begin crafting tracks for their follow-up. Singer Alex Kapranos spoke to BBC 6Music and revealed that he has been writing in partnership with the band’s guitarist and vocalist Nick McCarthy.

"I've been round at Nick's and we've been writing some things, and trying to do things in a different way again," he said. "You'll hear it before too long. Before the last record, I talked far too much about it as we had the ideas and I made a vow that I wasn't going to say anything about what we are actually doing until we've done it, and then wait about another three weeks."

In other news involving the band members, singer Alex Kapranos has been working on a song called ‘The Eyes Of Mars’ with oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard. Their work is expected to appear in a forthcoming fashion commercial.
