Aerosmith To Play London's O2 Arena & Tickets

Legends of rock Aerosmith have announced that they will play London’s O2 Arena as part of their ‘Cocked, Locked and Ready To Rock’ 2010 tour. Steven Tyler and co. will be back touring Europe for the first time in three years and will play the Greenwich venue on June 15th.

Founded in Boston over forty years ago by four teenagers in love with rock ‘n’ roll, the US rockers are still touring to huge crowds and packed venues. As the saying goes, some things just get better with age, including Aerosmith, who will be setting off on a jaunt around Europe that will see them play dates in Sweden, Holland, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Romania and the Czech Republic.

Lately the bad boys from Boston have been dogged by rumours that charismatic frontman Steven Tyler was not working with the group anymore and was due to be replaced. The singer has recently endured another stint in rehab due to addiction to painkillers. However such rumours were quashed when Tyler appeared in a new video issued by Aerosmith, joking with his bandmates saying, “I just auditioned and I got the gig!”

Never a man to leave out the hype, Tyler spoke of his feelings for the forthcoming tour. "Back by popular demand with more spit and fire than ever before, we're coming across the pond and parting the waters as we go." Lead guitarist Joe Perry, referring to those persistent rumours, had this to say: “Enough BS - we're coming and everything is going to be set at eleven."

Aerosmith will play the London O2 Arena just two days after their confirmed headline slot at this year’s Download Festival. The band will headline the Sunday night of the festival that features other big names like AC/DC and Rage Against The Machine, before travelling down to London for their second UK show.

The band’s ‘Cocked, Locked and Ready To Rock’ tour is as follows:

Sweden - Rock Festival – June 10th 2010
UK - Download Festival – June 13th,
UK - London O2 Arena – June 15th
Romania – Bucharest – June 18th
Greece – Athens Olympic Stadium – June 20th
Holland – Nijmegen Goeffert Park – June 23rd
Belgium - Graspop Festival – June 25th
Spain – Barcelona St Jordi Arena – June 27th
France – Paris Bercy Arena – June 29th
Czech Republic – Prague 02 Arena - July 1st
Italy - Venice Festival – July 3rd

Tickets for Aerosmith’s London O2 Arena show are available from 9am on Friday 5th March 2010. Tickets for Download festival are on sale now.
