The Stooges, Genesis, Abba, The Hollies & Jimmy Cliff Added to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame added a series of new acts to the prestigious roll of honour. The Stooges, Abba, The Hollies, Jimmy Cliff and Genesis were all inducted on Monday (March 15th).

The Stooges and The Hollies performed at the ceremony after collecting their prizes. Abba were represented by Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, whilst Genesis attended in their originial line-up, aside from singer Peter Gabriel.

Making it clear that Gabriel hadn’t shunted the event, ex-bandmate Mike Rutherford explained “he has a very legimate and genuine excuse…he’s actually starting a tour”.

Bands are eligible for addition to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after twenty five years of their first recording. Well done everyone…especially Genesis, of whom we at Stereoboard.com are massive fans.

N.B. We would like to point out that our love for the Genesis strictly ends after Peter Gabriel left. Phil Collins can do one.
