Kid Sister Daydreaming for Ultraviolet Debut Album Success - Watch New Video

New Rap/Hip-Hop Kid on the block, Kid Sister is set to create waves in 2010 with her acclaimed debut long player, ‘Ultraviolet', released on May 3rd. The album will be preceded by the single 'Daydreaming' on April 19th, watch the video below!

‘Ultraviolet’ may have been put together with some of the hottest producers around, but there is no doubt this is Kid Sister’s album. From the off, her personality, her charisma envelop this record. Single minded and with the rhymes and chops that make her stand out, it a scorching, eclectic album that is a really bold modern day pop record.

Kid Sister, aka Melisa Young, got her musical education from parties she sneaked into, introducing her to the newest house tracks on the Chicago block of the time. First emerging two years ago with the Kanye West-assisted ‘Pro Nail’s, as well as appearing on ‘Beeper’ with Count & Sinden, she established herself as one of the best solo artists out here.

Influences include Juke, the sound of her youth, dancehall, ghetto house, soul, and hip-hop make up this incredible musical statement. Now she has taken this backdrop and melded it to the freshest beats and sounds around for ‘Ultraviolet’, an album that is like a musical joyride, the kind of record that could only have been released in 2010. Party rhymes and pop culture references make this a snapshot of the here and now. She is the new Neneh Cherry, fusing of pop smarts and hip-hop energy to electrifying effect.

Recorded in Chicago at Attic Studios, ‘Ultraviolet’ was overseen by old friend and Kanye West tour DJ, A-Trak, who served as executive producer. Kanye himself shows up on ‘Pro Nails’ the track that first put Kid Sister on the map two years ago. Other guests include Estelle, turns out to give ‘Step’ an extra kick, whilst Cee-Lo pulls out all the stops for ‘Daydreaming’, the soon to be massive hit single. An epic, mesmerizing head-rush of a single, its been produced by Brian Kennedy, the producer genius behind Rihanna’s ‘Disturbia’. It could see Kid Sister hit the stratosphere.

Production duties fell to some of the hottest talents around. Specifically she hollered at Swedish House Mafia dudes Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso, French hip hop electro producer Yusek, Herve AKA The Count AKA The Count of Monte Cristal and his spar Sinden, Baltimore ghetto-house producer XXXChange, Leeds boy Rusko and Brian Kennedy.

The stuttering rave-hop of opener ‘Right Hand Hi’ scorches all before it, before the amped up pop hooks of ‘Life On TV’ follows. The dance rhythms of her native Chicago infuse the whole record but no more so than on ‘Switch Board’, a track that highlights her musical education more than any.
