Scissor Sisters Return With New UK Tour & Tickets

Scissor Sister have marked their UK comeback with the announcement of a series of UK tour dates in support of their new album.

The outrageous New York band have been pretty quiet as of late, recently revealing that they scrapped an entire album that they had been working on for 18 months in favour for the forthcoming release of their 3rd album ‘Night Work’.

The US band will play six gigs, including a two-night residency at London’s Brixton Academy on June 23rd and June 25th. The tour’s curtain will fall at a show in Manchester’s Apollo on June 28th which will coincide with the day of release of the new album.

The tour will be an intimate affair, with the group returning to the UK and performing at smaller venues. The new album is expected to be previewed to fans on the tour, with glitter-clad singer Jake Shears wanting to take the act back to his New York club days.

The whole new album has said to be inspired by Jake going out clubbing again. A source reports that the Scissor Sisters wanted to bring that late-night clubbing feel to the live shows. Starting off with some smaller shows rather than coming back and playing arenas, making it a more intimate and party vibe.

Scissor Sisters will play the following UK and Ireland dates:

June 2010

16th Barrowlands, Glasgow
20th Olympia, Dublin
22nd Brixton O2 Academy, London
23rd Brixton O2 Academy, London
25th O2 Academy, Birmingham
28th Apollo, Manchester

Tickets are available from 10am on Friday 14th May and are expected to sell out quickly. Check back to Stereoboard.com this Wednesday morning for presales.
