Stereoboard Storms Into Music Week's Top 10 UK Music Sites

Stereoboard.com has stormed into the top ten music sites in the UK, with an eight-fold increase in visitors over the last 12 months.

Official figures show that in April 2010, over 1.6 million music fans visited Stereoboard.com to find tour news and tickets for sold out events.

Stereoboard.com's managing director and founder Nigel Sachdev described the result as an 'incredible achievement' for the independently-owned site.

Image'This official recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication that has gone in to the site over the past 12 months by our team of writers and contributors from all across the UK,' said Sachdev.

Stereoboard.com is one of just three dedicated UK music websites to make the top ten, with the music pages of internet giants like MSN, Yahoo and the BBC dominating the list.

Traffic to Stereoboard has risen rapidly since 2009, when Sachdev decided to run the site as a fully fledged business having been his 'part-time hobby' since 2002.

Sachdev puts Stereoboard's success down to its unique mixture of live music news, reviews and ticket comparison.

Industry behemoths NME took the top spot in Music Week's breakdown of the UK's most visited music sites.

Stereoboard was only a few percentage points off beating established metal merchants Kerrang! and chin-scratching US muso bible Pitchfork.com.

All data was compiled by Experian Hitwise based on UK internet traffic from April 2010.
