Pete Doherty Is Totally Skint

There’s not much in this world that brings a smile to my face quicker than reading that Pete Doherty has f--ked up again. I’ll be honest, the guy has a talent but what a waste huh. Apparently the guy is down on his luck again, being reported as close to penniless. Joy!

Pete Doherty is currently facing financial trouble and has been reported to be renting a “squalid” flat to save money. The latest twist in the singer-songwriter’s sorry story sees him currently living a tiny North London flat, performing local acoustic gigs to get by.

A source, quoted by The Sun newspaper, has been said to claim that, "Pete is completely broke. He's found this squalid pad and he's doing shows for any cash landlords will offer."

This isn’t the first time Doherty has found himself in trouble. We’ve all read the stories about the singer’s drug problems, appearances in court and generally making an arse of himself. However, financial difficulties aren’t something we would associate with the star. It would seem that all of those court costs have finally caught up with him!

This not being the first time the singer has been in financial trouble, two years ago Babyshambles were forced into holding some emergency meetings to work out where their money was going. Doherty said at the time, "I've got a few concerns at the moment over issues to do with management -- where the money has been going and distribution of wealth."

Unfortunately my pleasure in seeing Doherty struggle wont last too long. With the Reading and Leeds Festival reunion of the Libertines just around the corner, Doherty is expected to net a share of the band’s £1.2 million pay. Doherty has said that he plans to pay off his tax bill with the money.
