Carl Barat October Solo Shows & Tickets Announced

Former Libertines and Dirty Pretty Things singer Carl Barat, currently recording as a solo artist, has announced a series of dates for UK shows this October.

The frontman, singer and guitarist has recently put the finishing touches to his new as-yet-untitled solo record which is expected to be released around the same time as the tour.

The newly announced tour will see Barat take to the road in October but whether he plays with a backing band or on his own is still to be confirmed. The tour will give fans the first opportunity to hear Carl Barat’s new material live and the singer has let slip that ticket holders should “expect the unexpected”.

It has been a busy few months for Carl Barat. Not only has he reunited The Libertines for the first time since 2004, where they will play at the Reading and Leeds festivals this August, Barat has also been focussing on persuing his solo career.

On top of all that, Carl has starred in ‘Fool For Love’ alongside Sadie Frost onstage at London’s Riverside Studio’s as well as narrating ‘The Rime Of The Modern Mariner’, a film about the London Docklands area.

Alongside his forthcoming tour and album release Carl Barat will be releasing a book which he has described as being “a collection of memoirs” which he hopes will “tickle your curiosity”.

Fans should keep a close watch on Barat’s new Twitter updates as well as his MySpace page, where he is rumoured to premiere his new music in the lead up to the album release.

Carl Barat will play the following UK dates:

October 2010

16th The Haymakers, Cambridge
18th Rescue Rooms, Nottingham
25th The Slade Rooms, Wolverhampton
26th Thekla, Bristol
27th The Scala, Kings Cross, London

Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday 18th June.
