Don't Want To Jinx It But...Glastonbury Festival Set To Be Dry!

Pack up the wellies and deflate the water-wings! I don’t want to jinx anything but the skies are looking good for a dry Glastonbury this year!!

I'll skip the chat and get right to the important point. Glastonbury kicks off next Wednesday the 23rd July and Met Office spokesman John Hammond, speaking to The Guardian, has given some promising news about the forthcoming festy forecast.

"The weather we're experiencing in the south of England is mainly dry with sunny spells, as we progress into the beginning of next week, light winds and a dry theme to the weather are likely to prevail."

So I reckon that means we’ll all have a 25% less chance of growing webbed-feet at this year’s Glasto! Anyone who has previously visited Worthy Farm’s weekender will tell you that the slightest of downpours over Somerset on Glastonbury weekend is enough to give out a 100,000 conditions of trench-foot.

Last year the festival enjoyed some pretty good weather though, the hot weather dried out the majority of damp fields, however its not just the wet conditions that blight Glastonbury, it’s the 100,000 pairs of boots that stomp around the site each day churning up the mud.

The Glastonbury festival is only one week away now so if you’re going this year keep your eyes peeled for a more detailed forecast which is expected on Monday. Met Office man, John Hammond also added, "it has been predominantly dry in Somerset and this is good news for campers as even if it rains during the festival, the ground will be dry."

However, I think it’s still a bit early to get the flip-flops out!
