Jeff Dunham is an American ventriloquist and stand-up comedian from Dallas, Texas.

Dunham started his comedy career in 1983 by supporting the likes of Bob Hope and George Burns on tour. He then joined the Broadway show Sugar Babies in 1985, and honed his act in comedy clubs.

He garnered media attention as his career progressed before he found televise fame; he appeared on Comedy Central Presents in 2003, followed by Jeff Dunham: Arguing with Myself in 2006, and has since appeared in numerous other comedy specials. He is known for his characters such as Walter, Peanut, José Jalapeño on a Stick and Melvin the Superhero Guy.

His recent tours, Spark of Insanity, Identity Crisis, Controlled Chaos, Disorderly Conduct, and Passively Aggressively, have been marathon events, with extensive shows across North America, the UK and Europe.
