The Residents are a rock band and arts collective from Shreveport, Louisiana.
Widely regarded as icons of experimental music, they have produced groundbreaking work in trance, world fusion, electronica, punk, industrial and lounge music, and have been credited with being among the originators of performance art and music video. Their early videos are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, and their Freak Show CD-ROM was featured in MOMA’s “Looking at Music 3.0” exhibition. They have released countless records over they years, with their most recent studio serving, 'Metal, Meat & Bone: The Songs of Dyin' Dog', arriving in 2020.
