Godspeed You! Black Emperor are a Canadian post-rock band from Montreal, Quebec, currently consisting of Efrim Menuck, Mike Moya, Mauro Pezzente, David Bryant, Aidan Girt, Sophie Trudeau, Thierry Amar, Karl Lemieux and Tim Herzog.

Formed in 1994, the band released their debut album, 'F♯ A♯ ∞' in 1997, followed by 'Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven' in 2000 and 'Yanqui U.X.O.' in 2002, before going on hiatus.

The band returned in 2010 and released their fourth record, 'Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend!', in 2012, followed three years later by 'Asunder, Sweet and Other Distress’ and then 2017's Luciferian Towers.

The band have headlined their own shows and tours across Canada and the UK, including appearing at London's Roundhouse, as part of Mogwai's 20th anniversary celebrations. They are set to release a new LP, 'G_d’s Pee AT STATE’S END!', in April 2021.
