The Rods are a New York heavy metal band that formed in the late 1970s, under the leadership of vocalist and guitarist David Feinstein, with bassist Stephen Starmer and drummer Carl Canedy.
They achieved little mainstream success during their career, though the group hit their creative peak with their initial records 1981's 'The Rods', 1982's 'Wild Dogs', which showed off their no-frills sound. They also toured with some of today's greatest metal bands — Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Motorhead and Metallica, to name just a few. After reuniting in 2008, they delivered a heavier style of music on the comeback records 2011's 'Vengeance' and 2019's 'Brotherhood of Metal'.
