The BRIT Awards are a British annual music awards show, which sees the best in British music awarded for their contributions to music.

The event first took place in the Wembley Conference Center in 1977, thanks to the British Phonographic Institute. The Beatles became the ceremony’s first big winners, picking-up three awards, and with Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody winning Best Single. It became an annual event after 1982, with Robbie Williams holding the record for winning the most awards, with an impressive 17.

The event also sees a variety of huge names performing, such as Adele and Blur in 2012, Arctic Monkeys and Katy Perry in 2014, and Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith in 2015. In 2016 saw performances from the likes of Adele, Justin Bieber and Coldplay, while 2018 hosted Little Mix, The 1975, Ed Sheeran, and more, presented by Dermot O’Leary and Emma Willis.
