The BRIT Awards will honour the late Ozzy Osbourne with a Lifetime Achievement Award at Saturday night's ceremony.
Honouring the impact of the "Prince of Darkness" as both a solo artist and the founding frontman of Black Sabbath, the evening will culminate with in an all-star tribute featuring a special performance of No More Tears, the title track from Ozzy's 1991 album of the same name, personally curated by Sharon Osbourne.
Joining the celebration will be former bandmates Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos, and Zakk Wylde, with Robbie Williams taking over lead vocals for the night. Stacey Tang, chair of the 2026 BRIT Awards Committee and co-president of RCA Records at Sony Music UK said:
"Ozzy Osbourne has been a mighty force in modern music. Possessing an unmistakable voice and unique presence, he reshaped the sound and spirit of rock, inspiring generations of artists who followed. This Lifetime Achievement Award recognises a remarkable legacy built on originality and enduring influence, that continues to connect with fans worldwide."
Ozzy Osbourne died in July last year at the age of 76. With more than 100 million albums sold over five decades, he is one of rock and metal's most influential figures having defined generations of heavy music. He released his his 13th and final solo album, 'Patient Number 9', in 2022. He also releaased 19 studio albums with Black Sabbath.
Last summer marked the final live performance by Ozzy, reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward for Back To The Beginning, a landmark benefit concert at Villa Park in his hometown of Birmingham. Streamed worldwide, the event featured appearances from rock and metal royalty, including Tom Morello, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Mastodon, and Anthrax, all paying tribute to the music of Ozzy and Black Sabbath.
Jacob Alon was awarded the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award back in January, when this year’s nominations were also announced. Earlier this month, the BRITs named Noel Gallagher as this year’s Songwriter Of The Year, Mark Ronson recieved the BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution To Music, and PinkPantheress won Producer Of The Year.
This year will be the first time the BRIT Awards ceremony will be held outside London, taking place at Manchester's Co-op Live this Saturday (February 28), with Jack Whitehall returning as host. It will be broadcast exclusively on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
Other performances on the night include Alex Warren, EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI, the singing voices of HUNTR/X, who will deliver a special performance in front of invited fans outside of Co-op Live, Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, Mark Ronson, RAYE, Rosalía, Sombr and Wolf Alice.
