This Week’s New Releases: Kid Cudi, Deftones, Belle and Sebastian

This is going to be our last new releases blog post of 2020, a year that saw live shows disappear but that brought about more new music than we could have hoped for.

This week, Kid Cudi has put out the third instalment in his ‘Man On The Moon’ series that started in 2009, Deftones celebrate the 20th anniversary of ‘White Pony’ with a deluxe reissue and remix LP called ‘Black Stallion’, and Belle and Sebastian have dropped a double LP.

Next week, you can look forward to new records from Paul McCartney and Lanterns On The Lake, among a few others.

This Week’s New Releases: Fischerspooner, Wild Beasts And Superchunk

This week is bonkers busy! Fischerspooner have finally put out ‘Sir’, the follow up to 2009’s ‘Entertainment’, which was co-written and co-produced by R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe and Boots. Wild Beasts have released a live LP, ‘Last Night All My Dreams Came True’, which will be their final output following the announcement of their split in September 2017.

You’ve also got a new one from Superchunk, their first since 2013, which boasts appearances by Katie Crutchfield of Waxahatchee, Magnetic Fields leader Stephin Merritt, A Giant Dog’s Sabrina Ellis, Skylar Gudasz, and David Bazan.

This week is definitely a mixed bag. Paolo Nutini, The Charlatans and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will join Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott in headlining this summer’s Summer In The City series at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl. Video Of The Week: Belle And Sebastian – The Party Line

Belle and Sebastian have unveiled the video for The Party Line, taken from their upcoming album, ‘Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance’.

Directed by LeBlanc + Cudmore, the video explores partying through the decades and features some impressive dancing courtesy of choreographer Robert Binet.
