You can probably have a fairly good guess at what Baptists sound like just by reading a bit about their debut album, ‘Bushcraft’. Words like “seething”, “discordant” and “Kurt Ballou” stand out in the press release. This is savage hardcore, that much may be obvious. Quite how feral Baptists sound, however, is not apparent until ‘Betterment’ rips out of the speakers and beats in your skull with all the subtlety of a psychotic hammer salesman.

Seminal thrash titans, Exodus (pictured) join the main stage ranks at this year’s Bloodstock festival. The Nuclear Blast band are currently gearing up to release their eleventh studio album, and they tour the US next month in the company of Bloodstock buddies, Anthrax. Frontman Rob Dukes states: “We are stoked to be playing Bloodstock again. Last time we played, our set was unfortunately cut short because of timing issues. Not this year! We are going to destroy that place!!!!”

Filmed and directed by Brendan Canty and Conal Thomson of Feel Good Lost, the video was shot as a tribute to friends of the directors who have recently lost their fathers.
