It is not very often you get to see artists from several great groups perform together; normally such things are reserved for occasions such as band aid, but not so with Freebass. Three of possibly the most influential bass players, from arguably some of the most influential UK groups, spanning over 3 decades of post punk, indie, electro and dance are combined in this bass lovers, super group.

'Born Free' singer M.I.A has warned fans that she believes the US government agency CIA are secretly behind social networking site Facebook, and search engine Google.
According to M.I.A the government are watching all user actions on the social networking behemoth Facebook.com, which has over 400 million users worldwide, and the US government operate an Orwellian access to information on the search giant. Baffling stuff! We couldn't make it up.

One Night Only will release 'Say You Don't Want It', the first single from their forthcoming second album on August 16th. The album, yet to be titled, follows a week later on the 23rd August. One Night Only have also revealed details of a summer UK tour. Dates below.
The hurtling first single and album opener 'Say You Don't Want It' is an instantly memorable song which talks of living like stars with beautiful girls and fast cars but also the fake and materialistic side of what can also be an empty and lonely world behind pop stardom. It captures the highs and lows - how it feels to be pop's most wanted and the darker flipside of pop success which the fans never get to see.

San Diego duo Crocodiles will release their new single "Sleep Forever" on July 5th through Fat Possum Records.
The perfect pre-cursor to Brandon Welchez & Charles Rowells sophomore record (due late Summer 2010), the album picks up where the trippy organ drones of their debut "Summer of Hate" left off. It washes us into the Californian desert where it was made.

After a top five smash with 'Acapella', and highly-sought after club shows at The Coronet and G-A-Y, Kelis releases '4th Of July', the next single from her critically-acclaimed album 'Flesh Tone', on you guessed it July 4th.
Following on from 'Acapella's ode to life, motherhood and the Universe, '4th Of July' continues the story ("Nothing I'll ever say or do / will be as good as loving you"). As part of Kelis' own rebirth as an electro-hop goddess, '4th Of July' is produced by DJ Ammo and mixes an R&B soulfulness, techno-dappled electro breaks with a rip-roaring wobbly bass riff.

Yes, they ARE back. It's been 3 years since Klaxons burst onto the music scene, injecting a dazzling and much needed moment of rave hedonism into the midst of indie tedium with the truly original and enormously influential Mercury award-winning album 'Myths Of The Near Future'.
Now with the charts full of everything from synth pop to techno-based indie bands, pop culture is once more in thrall to electronic music. Always ahead of the curve, Klaxons have returned with a new back to basics rock approach and a burning desire to turn the music world on its head once again and inspire kids to pick up guitars.

I think there is something special about the sound that can be achieved when a female vocalist fronts a group, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Florence and The Machine and Garbage to name a few which come to mind. And this band do not disappoint. The progressive pop/electro indie sound and Anne Lise Frokedal’s chilling, eerie vocals, produced by this Norwegian group provide a unique, despairing sound that can break your heart.

Deep in the sleepy Ribble Valley nestled cosily behind the shadow of stunning Pendle Hill, something magical is stirring... The hills are alive with the sound of twinkling synths and a bass line wobbles beneath the pine trees. Festival land's best kept secret, the amazing Beat-Herder is stretching out her loving arms for an amazing fifth year to snuggle yet another eclectic crowd into her fine Northern bosom for three days of unrivalled beats and barminess!
With no official sponsorship, no egos, not a scrap of branding and cheap food and local booze all in tow, Beat-Herder is hedonism stripped right down to its underpants! Medieval flags waft in the breeze as colourful crowds dance till dawn amongst the trees and hand made installations to a soundtrack of the finest DJs and bands around.
