Coldplay top the shortlist with three nominations for this year's Ivor Novello songwriting awards.
The band are up for International Hit of the Year and Most Performed Work for 'Speed of Sound', the debut single from current album 'X & Y'. 'Fix You' has also been nominated for best song musically and lyrically.
Other acts competing for the accolades are Gorillaz, Athlete, KT Tunstall and the Arctic Monkeys who have all received one nomination each, while army-toff James Blunt received two nominations for the surprise hit single of 2005, 'You're Beautiful'.
