David Gilmour To Join Roger Waters On 'The Wall' Tour

Feuding Pink Floyd pair Roger Waters and David Gilmour WILL reunite live on stage again following their triumphant charity performance in Oxford last week.

The duo played together at the HOPING Foundation charity gig last Friday, July 10th and must’ve enjoyed things so much, they have decided to meet up again for the forthcoming 30th anniversary tour of ‘The Wall’.

Revealing the news via Facebook, the former Floyd bassist and vocalist Roger Waters explained how guitarist David Gilmour made contact, offering to reunite onstage with his former band-mate at one of the tour dates, which kicks-off in Canada on 15th September.

The guitarist apparently emailed Waters proposing that, “If you do ‘To Know Him is to Love Him’ for The HOPING Foundation Gig. I’ll come and do ‘Comfortably Numb’ on one of your Wall shows.” Roger Waters continued to describe how he was “blown away” with the suggestion.

“How could I refuse such an offer? I couldn’t, there was no way. Generosity trumped fear. And so explaining that I would probably be s****ing it but if he didn’t mind I didn’t – I agreed and the rest is history. We did it, and it was f***ing great. End of story. Or possibly the beginning.”

It isn’t known which show David Gilmour will make his appearance, although Waters’ post on Facebook built up further anticipation with him commenting, “Just heard from David, he will decide in due course which gig he wants to do, it will be a surprise!”

The Facebook post has no doubt drawn the attention of thousands of fans, with the number of comments left currently standing at 1,095.

Roger Waters will bring the resuscitated 30th anniversary edition of ‘The Wall’ tour to the UK in May 2011.
