Bono "Feeling Strong" About Forthcoming European Tour

The countdown for U2’s live return has begun, with Bono’s back injury behind him – no pun intended - the singer has revealed he is now ready to go and “feeling strong”.
Undergoing emergency surgery on his back last May, the U2 frontman has since been recovering from the operation that was required following an injury he picked up during a band rehearsal.
The Guardian newspaper reports that the Irishman has returned to fitness and in a video posted on U2’s official website, with the band joking of a possible replacement, Bono describes that he is now able to “sit, stand” and “move about a bit” as well as confirming he was feeling strong and confident.
Bono’s injury forced U2 to cancel their North American tour as well as their headline show at Glastonbury, which would have been their first ever appearance at the Somerset festival.
Obviously feeling guilty about his unexpected injury, Bono apologised for the inconvenience that he may have caused fans. “I wanted to apologise for the trouble that this injury has put you all through and those of you that bought tickets, organised hotels and travel plans – it’s a very big deal…thank you for standing by us in our hour of need.”
The band return to the live stage on August 6th in Turin, Italy and Bono has declared that he will be “fighting fit” for the European tour as well as their rescheduled 2011 North American dates.
