Legendary Rock Artists To Feature On Ronnie Wood's New Solo Album

Veteran Rolling Stones guitarist, Ronnie Wood, has signed up a star-studded list of rockers to collaborate on his forthcoming solo album.

Entitled ‘I Feel Like Playing’, the upcoming album, which is expected to be released on September 27th, will consist of 12 new tracks from Ron, with superstars such as Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea as well as many more jamming with the guitarist.

In addition to Vedder, Slash and Flea, the recently turned sober guitarist has also enlisted country singer, songwriter and guitarist Kris Kristofferson and ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons for assistance in creating the album. Soul icon Bobby Womack – having recently supplied vocals on the Gorillaz new album ‘Plastic Beach’ - is also set to play on the album as well as Wood’s old Faces bandmate Ian McLagan.

The Rolling Stones have been keeping a low profile lately while rumours have been circulating that the band are planning their 50th anniversary tour for 2012. However, with Mick, Keith and Charlie staying out of the public spotlight, Ronnie has recently undergone a personal rock n roll sap opera following his affair with a Russian teenager as well as going through a high profile divorce.

Keeping the announcement of the new material quiet for a while, the revealing of the new album has only just been made. Following up Ron Wood’s 2001 album ‘Not for Beginners’, this new album will feature first single ‘Lucky Man’ as well as other tracks ‘Sweetness, ‘Spoonful’ and ‘Fancy Pants’.

‘I Feel Like Playing’ is due for release next month on September 27th.
