DJs Fearne Cotton and Zane Lowe will be broadcasting live from university towns and cities across the country later this year, following the announcement of Radio One’s ‘Student Tour’.

Arranged to coincide with the forthcoming Freshers activities this autumn, the Radio One Tour will be yet another way for students across the country to put their hefty loan cheques to good use – because even the pub gets boring sometimes.

Scheduling four dates for the tour, the jaunt will see the likes of Mark Ronson, 30 Seconds To Mars, Chase & Status and the Klaxons perform live at venues closely linked to universities in Newcastle, Lincoln, Oxford and Bristol. With Zane Lowe playing a special DJ set following each of the band’s performances.

The tour opens in Newcastle on October 18th with producing guru Mark Ronson, new band The Business International in tow, showcasing material from his upcoming new album ‘Record Collection’, as well as the dancefloor favourites.

Over at Lincoln’s Engine Shed on October 19th 30 Seconds To Mars will appear with cutting edge duo Chase & Status entertaining the freshers at Oxford University on October 20th. Bristol’s Anson Rooms will see the Klaxons provide the evening’s entertainment on October 21st.

In addition to the stunning line-up of bands, each morning Fearne Cotton will be joined by some massive acts in the Live Lounge and Zane Lowe will be broadcasting his evening show live from gigs.

The Radio One ‘Student Tour’ will take place on the following dates:

October 2010

18th Northumbria University Sport Central, Newcastle
19th Engine Shed, Lincoln
20th O2 Academy, Oxford
21st Bristol University Anson Rooms, Bristol

Tickets are available from 9am on Friday 3rd September.
