American motown singer Mary Wilson, best known for being a founding member of the world’s most famous trio The Supremes, has announced an extensive UK tour for early 2011.
Being sought after to entertain all over the world, Mary Wilson still sings with the same passion that she had when singing with the original Supremes. Having recorded 12 No.1 hits from 1964 to 1969, The Supremes were the most popular female harmony trio in history and the second most successful group of the 60s, after the Beatles.
Announcing a lengthy list of dates for her first UK solo tour in 15 years, Mary Wilson will hit the road in February and March next year. Playing 19-dates across the country, fans can expect to hear classic Supreme hits like ‘Stop In the Name of Love’, ‘Baby Love’, ‘Someday We'll Be Together’ and ‘Come See About Me’.
With support coming from special guests The Chi-lites, this new tour follows the success of last year’s ‘Once In A Lifetime Legends Live’ arena jaunt that saw Mary Wilson perform alongside other legendary motown acts such as The Commodores, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, The Miracles and Jnr Walker’s All Stars.
Mary Wilson gets her tour underway in Leicester on 26th February and will 17 venues around the UK before concluding in Brimingham on March 20th.
