LA indie-pop band the Dum Dum Girls have released details of a one-off show in London later this year.
Led by Dee Dee, The Dum Dum Girls released their first album I Will Be last March. Warmly received by critics the debut album has been described as a tribute to love, fun and the classic pop form of 60s girl groups and early punk rockers. Mixing bubble-gum pop music with some loud guitar hooks, the album has drawn a huge following to the Dum Dum Girls with psych-pop group MGMT amongst their fans.
With the debut album showing everyone just what Dee Dee, Jules, Bambie and new drummer Sandy Vu are capable of, the combined talents that form the Dum Dum Girls seem to have impressed MGMT so much that they have invited the girls to join them as support on their forthcoming autumn tour.
In addition to the support slots, Dum Dum Girls will also play their own headline show at Londons newly opened arts and live music venue XOYO. Having only opened last month the Dum Dum Girls will be one of the first bands to play at the new establishment, which will be mixing art exhibitions with live music performances.
The Dum Dum Girls will play their headline show on September 28th, which sits near enough in the middle of their MGMT support show schedule.
The Dum Dum Girls will play the following UK shows:
