JLS to star in Christmas TV special

JLS have approached Gavin and Stacey star James Cordon for a one-off Christmas special show, it has been announced.
The X Factor stars will be acting for the first time in the show which is set to be a mixture of comedy sketches, interviews and musical performances. Corden is set to direct the show, which will also be his first time working in such a role. The hour-long event is set to air directly before the X Factor Live Semi-final.
A source from the show declared: "James got his team to refine some of the sketches and come up with a few comedy platinum ideas of their own. Very loosely it'll be Little Britain meets with An Audience With meets You've Been Framed, plus there's going to be a surprise, big-name act singing with the band."
"The boys have had some acting lessons, and Aston is a master of deadpan gags; they're confident they'll be up to the job” he continued.
JLS are said to have approached Corden after performing on his World Cup chat show. The unlikely team will be shooting around the UK - using hidden cameras in true Christmas television tradition. The unnamed festive event will also feature at least five songs from JLS performing in front of a large studio audience.
Corden is not known to have the best track record for sketch shows: his BBC venture "Horne and Corden" was publically criticised as being sub-par to his tremendous writing for Gavin and Stacey. Here’s hoping that JLS have got some comedic talent of their own hidden under their sleeves.
