Take That, Kasabian and Plan B Win Big at Q Awards

It was a big night for music lovers yesterday as the Q awards took place at London’s Grosvenor Hotel. Take That, Kasabian, Plan B and Florence and the Machine were among the major winners at the awards which took place last night (October 25th).

Take That were welcomed into the Q Awards Hall of Fame, making their first public appearance since Robbie Williams have rejoined the band. After winning the award, Robbie declared: "I’m Very happy to be back - first day and we've won an award. I'd like to thank my boys. I’m extremely happy here and looking forward to the next few years."

Take That are expected to make a major announcement today regarding their impending tour, however rumours are already circulating that they are due to announce their largest ever set of shows. Be sure to check as Stereoboard.com will be giving the news and ticket information as soon as it happens.

British rock band Kasabian walked away with ‘Best Act in the World Today’, fending off the likes of Arcade Fire, Muse and Kings of Leon to win the award.

Florence and the Machine picked up two awards for ‘Best Female’ and ‘Best Track’ for 'You've Got the Love'. Plan B also added another award to his already-creaking trophy cabinet, picking up the ‘Breakthrough Artist’ award.

Sir Paul McCartney made an appearance to collect the ‘Q Classic Album’ award for 'Band on the Run' with his band Wings. McCartney was extremely well received by the celebrity audience, who gave the Beatles star a standing ovation after his speech. McCartney dedicated the award to his late wife Linda who died from cancer in 1998, but was part of the line-up which recorded the album.

In an emotional speech, he said: "This album was quite a struggle to make. The Beatles were a pretty hard act to follow, and we were going to follow them. Linda was getting slagged off for being in the band. I was getting slagged off for letting her in the band. But we finally got it together on this album. This one's for Linda."
