Journey, Foreigner And Styx To Tour UK In 2011

Anyone who likes classic rock music will be in for a treat in 2011 following the announcement of a major joint-headline tour by rock giants Journey, Foreigner and Styx.

Journey, a group of American rockers who joined together in 1973 to play progressive jazz-rock, have developed into one of the planets most popular rock bands. Honing their skills and maturing their sound into a more unique style of sophisticated rock, their 1981 album 'Escape' reached Number One and spawned a string of classic tracks. The band's 1981 power-ballad hit 'Don’t Stop Believin' has been crowned the top-selling catalogue track in iTunes history.

Honoured with the 2,275th Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in 2005, five years later Journey are still going strong with the band revealing earlier this year they were recording their 14th studio album. The new album is expected to be released in early 2011.

Also set to announce UK shows for 2011 are fellow multi-million selling rock band Foreigner. The British-American band formed a few years later than Journey, in 1976, and have sold over 70 million albums worldwide. Formed by English frontman Mick Jones, Foreigner released their latest album 'Cant Slow Down' in October 2009 battling against other big rock releases from the likes of AC/DC, The Eagles and KISS.

Finally, Chicago band Styx will also announce news of UK shows. Renown for melding the style of prog-rock with the power of hard rock guitar, strong ballads, and elements of American musical theater. 978). The band has four consecutive albums certified multi-platinum and in July earlier this year, Styx announced the forthcoming release of 'Regeneration: Volume 1', a new EP featuring six re-recorded hits and a new song entitled 'Difference In the World'.

Journey, Foreigner and Styx have announced the following UK shows as part of a 2011 UK tour:

London Wembley Arena - Saturday June 4th
Birmingham NIA - Sunday June 5th
Newcastle Metro Radio Arena - Tuesday June 7th
Manchester Evening News Arena - Wednesday June 8th
Glasgow SECC - Thursday June 9th
