'Brian’s Drying Up’ is the debut single from the Essex born singer songwriter Francis Neve. Taken from the critically acclaimed album ‘The Second Time We First Met’, ‘Brian’s Drying Up’ is a downbeat account of the trials and temptations faced at the beginning of a relationship. Punctuated by sparse percussion and swelling with delicate instrumentation, (almost all played by Francis himself), Neve’s own brand of introspective emotive lo-fi pop is subtly infectious.
Having won over fans from Clash, Music Week and Gaydar, to Jazz Fm and the BBC, Francis performed a triumphant debut show at Camden Rock this September, followed by a series of London dates at the likes of The Good Ship, The Wilmington Arms and the Bull & Gate, with more dates being announced.
His skills as sound-engineer mean, of course, that he is confident about that the live shows will always be as stunning as the album. “We’re perfecting our full band shows, airing the album in its entirety,” he says. “The tunes seem to work better live. And if nothing else, I can guarantee the sound will be flawless.”
His album ‘The Second Time We First Met’ is out now with track ‘Come Near’ available as a free download from his website.
Francis Neve will release his debut single, 'Brian's Drying Up', on December 13th. You can check out the video accompanying the song below.
