The Manic Street Preachers have been forced to cancel their homecoming show at Blackwood Miners Institute on Thursday (December 2nd) because vocalist James Dean Bradfield is suffering from laryngitis.
The gig, in front of an intimate audience of just 180 fans, was set to be recorded and broadcast by BBC Radio 2, however, due to Bradfield's unexpected illness, the show has been postponed with hope to reschedule the concert in January 2011. The BBC have apologised for the inconvenience and have stated that existing tickets will remain valid.
In other news, the Manics are also confirmed to perform on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday December 4th. Confirming the performance on their Twitter account, the Manics posted, "Unbelievable – we have got Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday. Mass communication indeed. What to wear?"
Following the announcment that James Dean Bradfield has laryngitis, the band's preformance on Strictly Come Dancing is now also in jeopardy.
The Manic Street Preachers are set to release a special five-track live EP next week which includes new single ‘Some Kind Of Nothingness’.
