Manic Street Preachers are the latest act confirmed for 2011's Isle Of Wight Festival, along with Public Image Ltd, Cast and Hadouken! The Script, Pixie Lott and James Walsh have also been confirmed to appear on the main stage at the weekend bash that will run from June 10th to June 12th 2011.
2010 has been another huge year for the Manic Street Preachers. Following their 2009 release of their ninth studio album, 'Journal For Plague Lovers', the Welsh rockers continued their impressive output with the release of their tenth studio album 'Postcards From a Young Man' earlier this year on 20th September. The album was preceded by the single '(It's Not War) Just The End of Love' and has also spawned the second massive single 'Some Kind Of Nothingness', featruing guest vocals from Echo & the Bunnymen's Ian McCulloch.
The newly announced acts will join already confirmed acts Kings of Leon, The Foo Fighters, Pulp, Kasabian, Plan B, Jeff Beck, Tom Jones, Two Door Cinema Club and James Walsh (among others) at the 2011 event as it celebrates its 10th birthday. John Giddings, Isle Of Wight Festival promoter had this to say about the bookings so far. "We have the best of the album chart, and one of the best guitarists in the world, it’s an awesome combination.”
More acts are set to be announced in the coming weeks.
