"Singing Captain" Xander Rawlins to Perform Live for Troops in Afghanistan

Grenadier Guards Captain Xander Rawlins, who is set to become a contender for this year's Christmas Number One with his new single '1000 Miles Apart', is to perform the track live for troops in Afghanistan and other conflict areas via the internet. The performance is due to take place on Wednesday 15th December from Wellington Barracks, London.
The performance is expected to be watched by thousands of troops around the world, who will be stationed away from home over the Christmas period. However, it can also be watched by anyone wishing to view the live stream on Wednesday.
As previously reported by Stereoboard, 26-year-old Captain Rawlins is to release '1000 Miles Apart' on 13th December. Profits from the single will go towards soldier charity organisations ABF and Combat Stress. The song is a strong contender for the Christmas Number One and currently has 7/1 odds at William Hill.

Xander Rawlins spent four months stationed in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He wrote '1000 Miles Apart' during his time there and frequently entertained friends and colleagues with his music in periods of downtime.
