Kanye West and Jay-Z's Joint Album “Coming In One Week"?

Tuesday, 04 January 2011 Written by James Conlon

Kanye West has announced that his joint album with Jay-Z will be “coming in one week”. During a lively New Year’s celebration with Jay-Z, Rihanna and a host of famous friends, the rapper announced to the crowd that ‘Watch The Throne” would be released within the following week.

However, a video of the announcement shows that the pair were hardly in their business mode at the time, as they are seen enjoying champagne and handing out the expensive bottles to friends on the dancefloor. Despite this, fans can expect that the collaborative album should surface in the near future: speaking all the way back in October, West declared that the album was nearly ready, and that the pair would "...probably be done with the album in a day or whatever."

You can watch the video below (Kanye West makes his announcement at around 0:29):

Meanwhile, Kanye West and Jay-Z paired up with a host of famous names to play a special New Year’s gig while they were in Las Vegas. The pair were joined on stage by Chris Martin, John Mayer, Rihanna and Beyonce for a one-off show at the Cosmopolitan casino in Las Vegas.

Highlights included John Mayer playing guitar for a unique rendition of Jay-Z's hit, ’99 Problems’, as well as Coldplay frontman Chris Martin playing piano for Beyonce’s ‘Halo’.
