The 2011 Red Bull Bedroom Jam Season Begins

Now in its fifth year, Red Bull Bedroom Jam, the weekly live music webcast that has propelled the careers of multiple bands across the UK rock scene, has returned, and is once again on the lookout for young, talented bands to launch into the spotlight.

Now fully established within the scene, the unrivaled digital platform for aspiring musicians will this year offer bands, (with at least one member under the age of 22), the chance of joining the Bedroom Jam tour; taking in five of the biggest UK festivals, a recording session at the Red Bull Studios London and the chance to support an established band on a major UK tour.

You And What Army, the band chosen in 2010, spent two weeks at the studio and then joined Kids In Glass Houses for their UK Tour. Front man Kieran described his experience as “a once in a lifetime opportunity… that’s taken the band to the next level. Having gone from performing a show in my bedroom to playing Shepherd’s Bush Empire, it’s been a phenomenal year.”

Aled Phillips from Kids In Glass Houses said: “Having played with You And What Army on tour this year I’ve seen what a massive opportunity this is for young, up and coming bands. Their energy and excitement really shone through at the shows, I can’t wait to see what this year’s season brings!”

How to get involved...

From now on bands can upload their videos to the Red Bull Bedroom Jam site

15 bands will be chosen using the Buzz Radar system to play live shows live from their bedrooms every Monday at 5pm

8 bands will be chosen by this year’s judges: Andy Copping, Vice President of Live Nation, Beckie Sugden of The Agency Group and Aled Phillips of Kids In Glass Houses to continue to the Festival Stage

At the end of the festival season 3 finalists will be chosen by the judges

The final 3 will go head to head in a public vote to see who walks away as the Bedroom Jam Champion!

Head to www.redbullbedroomjam.com to upload your entry videos and tune in at 5pm on 21/02/2011 to catch the first live show.
