Guillemots Announce Their Return with a New Secret Gig

Experimental indie four-piece Guillemots are back following a three-year break after the release of their second album ‘Red’. The band, who are due to release their long-awaited third album later this year, recently announced details of a gig at a secret London venue on 27th January. Tickets for the show went on sale at 11am on 13th January and sold out almost instantly. More tickets are due to be given away exclusively through the group’s Facebook page.

Following the 2008 release of ‘Red’ and its subsequent tour, Guillemots’ frontman Fyfe Dangerfield spent some time away from the band whilst working on and releasing his own solo album ‘Fly Yellow Moon’. The album came out in January 2010 and Dangerfield spent much of the year touring it. The news of his return to Guillemots will come as great news to the group’s fans.

It has previously been announced that the third Guillemots’ album was completed last year following several months of recording. However, the band are yet to confirm a title or official release date.

Guillemots were formed in 2004 and released their debut ‘Through the Windowpane’ two years later. The album was nominated for the 2006 Mercury Music Prize. The band had their biggest hit with the single ‘Get Over It’, which made it to Number 20 in 2008.
