Panic! At The Disco have unveiled the video for their upcoming single ‘The Ballad Of Mona Lisa’. The song is the first to be taken from their upcoming album, ‘Vices & Virtues’ set for release on March 28th in the UK and March 29th in the US.
‘Vices & Virtues’ is the first full-length release from the band’s two-man line-up of singer Brendon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith. The new line-up emerged for the first time in late 2009 to release ‘New Perspective’, a track featured on the Megan Fox film ‘Jennifer’s Body’.
The video is an enigmatic display of the band’s more theatrical side, returning to a style similar to that which the group adopted during promotion of their debut album ‘A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out’.
Frontman Brendon Urie is presented playing a number of characters at a funeral service, including (as it turns out) the corpse itself. Speaking about the video in a recent interview with MTV, the singer said: "One [of my characters] was inspired by 'Sweeney Todd' and is very Johnny Depp. I'm not an actor, so I was like 'Hey whatever ... just guide me.' I try, but I'm no Depp. No one's Depp."
