New Wave Swedish Band The Sounds To Release New Single 'Something To Die For' Next Week

‘Something to Die For’ is the 1st single from the new album from Swedish new wave sensations The Sounds.

Since their origin, The Sounds have maintained an exhausting touring schedule having played over 1000+ shows to date in over 25 countries. As well as their own sold out headline shows, they’ve also played support shows with acts as diverse as No Doubt, The Strokes, Angels & Airwaves, Foo Fighters, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, +44, Billy Talent, Justice, MSTRKRFT, M.I.A, were a main stage act on two Warped Tours, Coachella and Bamboozle, and have had multiple appearances on David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live. In the summer of 2010 they did over 25 European festivals alone.

This new single is taken from The Sounds’ brand new full length of the same name, which is due out on 2nd May. After taking some time off recording to headline and perform at festivals last summer The Sounds went into the studio to produce this stunning new effort – a party album full of dark dance-pop club anthems and punk/electro sing-alongs, but also some more electronic elements, bringing the band’s music back to their club roots.

With three albums under their belts this is the first album that the band have produced themselves and with this new chapter also comes a new partnership for the quintet, with Los Angeles-based SideOneDummy Records, who have joint-ventured with the band’s own Arnioki Records.

While their last two albums were recorded in the U.S. with outside producers, for this one the band retreated to their own studio in Malmo, Sweden to write and record an album they collectively deemed entirely The Sounds: a creation indicative of a particular sound, without any outside influence.
