Mumford & Sons To Begin Work On New Album

English folk rockers Mumford and Sons have announced that they will be recording songs for their second studio album later on this year.

After only recently revealing that they were writing new material, keyboard player Ben Lovett has said “We want to get the second album recorded this year, and we're hoping to have gigged the record in before going to the studio.”

The new album will be there follow up to their massive debut album ‘Sigh No More’, which has helped see Mumford and Son exceed sales of one million – prompting the band to work with the same producer on there latest LP.

Markus Dravs was a big help for the band when recording there debut release, and Lovett is full of praise for the producer, saying “He's really good at bringing a little bit of structure and order to very disorganised minds. I think we could perhaps record it ourselves, but we'd get lost in our own sorts. “

Mumford and Sons recently collaborated with Bob Dylan for a duet at the Grammy Awards last month, with Lovett admitting "It was a huge honour. We'd been asked a few weeks earlier but they were like, 'We haven't confirmed who it is that you're going to be collaborating with.' It could have been anyone. But they said, 'Trust us, you won't be disappointed.' They were right."
