Dizzee Rascal In Talks To Star In New British Sitcom

Dizzee Rascal has been targeted as the star of a new British sitcom, according to reports. The rapper, who is currently writing the follow-up to his 2009 hit LP ‘Tongue N’ Cheek’, is in talks with Damon Beesley and Ian Morris to star in a his own sitcom.

Beesley and Morris, the two men behind the hit UK series ‘The Inbetweeners’, are said to be writing a sitcom set around the rapper’s life in London.

A source linked to the show told The Sun: "Damon and Iain like the idea of making a funny show about a rapper. Urban artists are usually portrayed in negative or bleak circumstances but they want to do something different."

They continued: "Dizzee is a big personality with loads of charisma and the writers think he would be the ideal subject for the show. It's just a question of whether or not he has the acting ability to pull it off."

Meanwhile, Dizzee Rascal is set to headline the second stage at this year’s V Festival. The ‘Fix Up, Look Sharp’ star will be performing alongside Primal Scream and main stage headliners Eminem and Arctic Monkeys.
