Lily Allen Denies ‘X Factor’ Judge Rumours

Monday, 04 April 2011 Written by James Conlon

Lily Allen has responded to reports that she will be appearing as a judge on the next British series of the ‘X Factor’, denying all claims that she is involved with the show. The ‘Smile’ singer was identified by tabloid papers over the weekend as a judge on the next series, but has been quick to assert that she has not even been approached by producers about the role.

Speaking on Twitter, the singer said: “Nice to know that I'm 80% confirmed to be a judge on x factor, anyone thinking about running it by me? Maybe that's the 20% bit...”

Allen then added later: “I'll only do it if there's a 'pop songs in a foreign language week'.”, following up the post with a video of Steve Wonder’s ‘My Cherie Amor’ performed in Italian.

The comments also triggered a joke spat between Allen and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge Piers Morgan. The two have engaged in several exchanges over Twitter in the past year, helped along by Morgan trying to secure an interview with Allen for his US talkshow.

Responding to her comments, Morgan said: "Did Bianca Gascoigne turn it down then?"

To which Allen replied: "Don't be a snob Piers, it doesn't suit you, oh wait a minute................carry on !"

Morgan then continued: "'Laughter would be bereaved if snobbery died'. - Peter Ustinov. Anyway, if you need some tips on how to be a talent judge, you know where to find me. (Answer: Hollywood).", to which Allen said: "YOU ARE SUCH A D**K !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Never content to on the quiet side, Morgan then finished the exchange: "I can always tell when I've got you riled, you start using capital letters. I'm off for a bike ride now, do try and calm down by the time I return...."
