Taking Back Sunday Confirm June 27th Release Of New Self-Titled Album

The classic Taking Back Sunday line-up that recorded their 2002 million-selling debut album ‘Tell All Your Friends’can now confirm the release of their new self-titled album on June 27th on Warner Bros. Records.

The album, the band’s fifth, was produced by Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Lostprophets) who also helmed Taking Back Sunday’s ‘Louder Now’ album which topped Kerrang!’s 2006 Album of the Year poll. Writing for the album commenced at the Sonic Ranch, a studio based in a pecan ranch in El Paso, Texas shortly after the five members reunited last year and continued at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, while the recording took place at Barefoot Recording in Hollywood.

Rejoining long term members Adam Lazzara (vocals), Eddie Reyes (guitar) and Mark O'Connell (drums) are John Nolan (guitar/vocals) and Shaun Cooper (bass), who left the band in 2003 to form Straylight Run.

The band offered a first teaser of the album when they unveiled a demo version of ‘Best Places To Be A Mom’ on their official website. The song was premiered on the band’s brief June 2010 US tour that they embarked upon shortly after announcing that Nolan and Cooper had returned to the fold. They subsequently followed it with ‘El Paso’, a raw blast of garage-rock vitriol and loud/quiet/loud dynamics and the first completed track to emerge from the recording sessions.

The first full single to be taken from the album will be ‘Faith (When I Let You Down)’ on May 3rd.

A special pre-order will be available to fans starting today only at www.takingbacksunday.com.  The limited-edition package includes the new album as well as a second bonus disc with six additional demo tracks and an instant MP3 download of ‘El Paso’.  The pre-order also includes eleven posters with unique art inspired by each song off the album, with copies of lyrics handwritten by Adam on the back of each poster.  Each package will be signed by the band.

The full album tracklisting is:

Taking Back Sunday debuted with ‘Tell All Your Friends’, an album that like the 2004 follow-up ‘Where You Want To Be’ and 2006’s ‘Louder Now’ reached Gold status. Their 2009 album ‘New Again’ was their third consecutive album to hit the Billboard Top 10 and was followed by last year’s live acoustic album ‘Live From Orensanz’.
