The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy To Tour With Original Cast?

It has been announced that the original cast of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy are set to reunite for a live tour of the sci-fi comedy.

Speaking to presenter Rob Cowan on Radio 3 yesterday, Simon Jones, who played the character of Arthur Dent in the original radio series and the 1981 TV verson had this to say. “The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy is going on the road next year, with all the original principal members of the cast. We’re going to make stops in various cities around the country as ourselves reconstructing and re-imagining a recording with live sound and live music.”

Details as to who was signing up for the tour, or where the tour would visit werent discussed, however, Jones did conclude with. “Watch this space because we’ll soon have where to book and where to go.”

The tour will follow in the footsteps of other successful radio-to-stage productions such as Round The Horne Revisted.

The original radio cast included Geoffrey McGivern as Ford Prefect, Mark Wing-Davey as Zaphod Beeblebrox and Susan Sheridan as Trillian. For the TV version, David Dixon played Ford, and Sandra Dickinson took the role of Trillian. So far, no further names have been officially confirmed for the tour.
