Blue Angry At Eurovision Radio Snub

British boyband Blue have expressed their anger over a lack of support for their Eurovision entry ‘I Can’, after it was revealed that the track has only been played 22 times on UK radio.

According to radio monitoring service MyRadio, the song has received minimal support from British stations, leading the band to claim that they don’t believe the country is backing their entry.

Speaking to The Mirror, singer Simon Webbe said: "We’re trying to do this for our country and our country isn’t backing us."

To add insult to injury BBC Radio 2, the station who are charged with the enviable task of being UK’s official Eurovision broadcaster, have refused to even place the track on their playlists. Speaking on the decision, a spokesperson from the broadcasting company said: "Radio 2 premiered Blue’s Eurovision song on the ‘Graham Norton Show’ and has played the song across the schedule where editorially appropriate. It is not currently on the playlist but it may be considered on merit, in due course."

However, Blue aren’t the only Eurovision entry frustrated with recent events. Irish entry Jedward have expressed their dissatisfaction after plans to have tigers appear on stage during their performance were scrapped by event organisers. The German organisers are said to have vetoed the plans, claiming that having live tigers in the venue would be too much of a risk for all involved.

Speaking to The Sun, a spokesperson for the twins said: "The boys thought that bringing on tigers was a foolproof plan. They know that the other countries don't think Britain or Ireland take the competition seriously .This was the ideal way of showing that they'd put a lot of thought into the gig. They're absolutely gutted."
